PSG vs. Manchester United: Lineups, Stats, and Match Preview
Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique has lauded the "quality" and "mentality" of his academy prospects as the team prepares for a second pre-season friendly against Manchester United in Gothenburg. Many senior players are still unavailable for PSG.
Following a 3-0 loss to Mallorca, Enrique acknowledged the team's performance was "interesting" in the first half. He stated, "It's difficult to make a fair assessment. It's not the result we would have liked, but that's football. When you play against Paris Saint-Germain, it's a source of motivation for every team. That's only natural. It's our first week of pre-season… it's to be expected. We're waiting for our international players to return before we can really see what our team looks like."
In their recent match, Michael Carrick's Manchester United side secured a 2-1 victory over Atletico de Madrid, with Bryan Mbeumo scoring both goals. Carrick, who has guided his team back to the Champions League, highlighted the squad's "spirit and camaraderie" as positive signs during pre-season.
"It is such a great group to work with in terms of the spirit to work with each other, [to let] us help them and guide them," Carrick told MUTV. "We had six-and-a-half weeks away from the players, so it's a long time compared to what I am used to. We are enjoying work and I am looking forward to the season. It's great to see the boys getting on so naturally and enjoying each other's company."
