Ruben Amorim clarifies Gonçalo Ramos's situation: "Just a precautionary stop"
Ruben Amorim, Milan's coach, has reassured fans regarding the condition of Portuguese forward Gonçalo Ramos. Ramos was excluded from the squad for the Europa League match against Bournemouth, which Amorim described as a "precautionary stop." The former Paris Saint-Germain player will be resting after feeling "something, a slight muscle stiffness during the game." Amorim added, "We'll see how he responds in the coming hours and in future training sessions."
Amorim expressed more concern about Chukwueze's condition, suggesting it might be a different and potentially more serious issue than Ramos's. He stated that comprehensive evaluations would be made with the medical staff.
Looking ahead, Amorim plans to rely on Cisse, whom he believes is operating at only 50% of his potential. "He's just at the beginning of his journey," Amorim noted. "We shouldn't rush young players; football is like a roller coaster and you can fall quickly. Cisse can play in various positions and use both feet, but naturally, he still lacks experience." He also mentioned that Camarda is improving and working hard with humility. Amorim confirmed that Cisse will have an opportunity to play against Bournemouth and is ready, while emphasizing that he has significant room for improvement.
Addressing the team's late-game lapse against Atalanta, Amorim stated that they have reviewed the goals conceded and analyzed ways to prevent them. "We need to improve as a team, work on tactical and mental aspects to better manage certain moments of the game," he explained. Regarding the upcoming match, Amorim expects more one-on-one quality and higher intensity from the opponent, acknowledging that the level will be higher than in the previous game. He confirmed the team is ready.
