Marco Panichi has officially ended his collaboration as Holger Rune's fitness coach. Previously part of Jannik Sinner's staff, the Roman trainer revealed this in an interview with Gonzo Tennis. He expressed his desire to return to full-time work on the ATP Tour. Currently serving as a fitness preparation consultant for the Kazakh federation, Panichi stated he hasn't yet finalized new individual agreements, despite receiving several offers due to his recognized expertise. "Certainly, from next season I will be back on the Tour: it's what I enjoy and what I want to keep doing. Currently, there have been various requests, and I intend to evaluate them calmly, taking the necessary time."

Sinner's Injury Analysis

Panichi, who has a history of high-profile collaborations, including six and a half years with Novak Djokovic, also commented on the world number one's forced break, which led to him ending his season early. "When playing constantly at the highest level with tight schedules, the risk of injury is always present, much like in football teams. Iliotibial band syndrome is a typical overuse condition, common for those running on hard surfaces or with imbalanced stances. Over time, the iliotibial band becomes inflamed at its insertion point on the side of the knee, causing a rather bothersome issue. If the diagnosis is confirmed, this injury will keep him sidelined for a while. For conditions of this type, surgery doesn't offer the same success guarantees as other procedures, like ACL reconstruction; for this reason, almost no one chooses to undergo surgery."
