One might wonder if this was influenced by the fact that investment funds interested in this deal included one reportedly linked to the brother-in-law of Trump himself. In Colombia, the FIFA president was accompanied by the president of CONMEBOL, Alejandro Domínguez from Paraguay. Domínguez is a close ally of Infantino, who has now presented his latest radical idea: the "Project 2030," which envisions a 64-team World Cup. This plan has already been rejected by UEFA, Asia, and North, Central America, and the Caribbean. Consequently, if an election were held today, Infantino would not secure the necessary majority for re-election.
